I did not see that last night. Thank you so much. When Ben has told me about their lockdown drills, I really did think they were kind of lame, and told him if the real thing ever happened at his elementary school, if he could get to it, he should run out the classroom door (they all have doors that open to the outside) and not stop 'til he gets home.
I think I'm going to email this to our Superintendant, School Committee Members, Principal, and teachers. Thanks, again. I'm trying not to cry, but I keep thinking of when they took out all those kids hiding in that classroom. I'd also told Ben to get in the way back of everyone else, on the bottom.
They make an excellent point that most shooters are students (my God, is this even our world) and would know the lockdown routines. It's just too much.
