i have my laptop back! yay!! best part? all my stuff is still safe and sound on the HD. so i don't even have to reupload everything. well...i had to reinstall a few programs, but that's nothing.

i shipped it to HP on thursday. they got it friday, fixed it and shipped it back on saturday. it got here today. that's pretty good customer service, huh?

oh shiny laptop, never leave me again!

Dude, I will keep that ringing endorsement in mind when I need to break down and get a kick-ass desktop. HP was the top of my list anyway when I feared the worst of my laptop and thought its incessant crashing was surely the death knell, but hearing good reports about servicing the machines really bolsters it anyway. Hurrah for fixed lappies!

(The moral of the story: Don't EVER buy Gateway, they will break your heart at least once a year and cost you a crazy-amount to repair all the damn time.)
