Angel thoughts

i'm probably in the minority, but this episode left me with a feeling of dread. a feeling that i'm not going to be happy with the outcome of this five year journey.

did this all not seem to come out of left field for anyone else besides me and ant? if Joss were even remotely still invested in telling this story we would have had subtle and not so subtle clues for the months leading up to this. he's infamous for it. so, yes. i do blame him for all dropped balls.

i just feel like so much has been wasted on episodes like the one we got last week. there are so much more important storylines to tie up than Connor's and Buffy's.

i have issues with Lindsey just turning up out of the blue(unexplained) with intent to kill Angel so he could take his place in the circle of the Black Thorns. before this season the last we saw of Lindsey was him on the supposed path of redemption. he was "tired of this crap". so why now is he ready to take it all back up again? what changed? do we not get any insight into this at all? WTF? was it Eve? because it sure as hell didn't seem like he cared all that much about her. speaking of...what did happen to her. another dropped storyline. not that i really miss seeing Eve, but still. oh and why does Hamilton have super-duper strength? Eve didn't have anything like that. what's so special about him? i'm just full of questions. questions that probably will never be answered. don't get me wrong. i'm willing to wait until i've seen the final hour. i just have a bad feeling that it won't satisfy me.

i just have to point out that once again Joss would have been dropping clues left and right that this would be what all of this was leading up to. we should've seen the passing of the visions coming, but i personally didn't.

i will say that i had the ending figured out when the episode first started. so there was no drama for me. i wasn't invested in what was going on.

i'm just...*sigh*. i feel like after all these years there should be some kind of pay-off for fans like me. i just don't see it happening with only 42 minutes of screen time left. and that? makes me sad.

Considering that they didn't know that things would have to wrap up as quickly as they did, I do think Joss had started dropping EXTREMELY subtle hints. But figuring that he had several seasons left to tell the story, he wasn't going to go there yet. And because they had begun some big diverging, I know I wasn't expecting the wrapping to be very crisp and perfect with a bow...lots of extra tape holding the paper on the package. *g*

Last week was an entirely poorly placed ep. Some of your questions may be answered, some probably won't. Next week may surprise us all. *HUGS*
