fandom makes the 'net go 'round

one more post and then it's off to bed with me. i've been watching the Flanvention drama unfold from the sidelines, but i actually had an opportunity to use my whedonesque membership for the first time today.

BE should be ashamed of themselves for what they've done to their fellow fans and i hope every one one of the people whose money was stolen goes after them. con is an appropriate word for this mess in more ways than one. however, this has once again shown me how amazing fandom can be when one of their own is being kicked while they're down. not to mention how amazing the cast of Firefly is. Big Damn Heroes was never a more apt description.

apologies if there are typos. this has been typed with no contacts in my eyes.

Yeah, that's all just so fucking awesome. As much as people hate the Browncoats for their...really loving a cancelled show some people think wasn't very good, this kind of thing makes 'em look damn good.

That whole thing is so insane. Booster is in big trouble. I don't know anyone who was going but I'm so glad the fans were able to get something else together. It's probably going to make people who were planning on going to Neptune Noir next year just a tad bit cranky, as well.

I can't remember how long it's been since I posted at Whedonesque. Three years maybe? Out of curiosity, I tried to log in just to check when my last post was but I couldn't because it looks like they're having database issues from the increased traffic today.

Heh. This is still impressive. I probably wouldn't have been able to find the keyboard.

I am amazed at what's been happening. I was bummed that I missed out on the first Flan, knew I wouldn't make it to this one either, and now this.

Our BDHs rule. End of story.

I am furious with BE, but that fury pales beside my warm feelings toward the Browncoats who organized the back-up plans (TWICE), the fans who weren't even attending who donated funds to help out those who'd been abused by BE (twice), and the FF/Serenity cast, because what a wonderful, wonderful testimony to all of them. I hope the ticket-holders have a better time than they would have at BE.
