tiggz: (dean - huh.)
i'm not one to gloat. wooooo hoooooo!!! Dean beat Ten!!!! however, we're in the final stretch and Dean continues to need your help! (see? he's giving you his pretty please face!) this time he's up against Spike, who while once was awesome, pretty much ended both series as not the Spike i'd fallen for. so...

and just because there's never too much Dean Winchester/Jensen Ackles.
tiggz: (dean - adorable)
i haven't gotten in the fray before now, but COME ON! i know Dean vs Ten is cruel, but you must choose Dean one!! so go vote!! unless you're going to vote for Ten.

because it makes me happy. it also, inevitably, gets the remix stuck in my head. for hours!
tiggz: (dean - all i want for christmas)
my link for the Secret Santa Love Meme.

p.s. if you've posted yours, leave me a comment with the link because eye=suck and have seen several of you post it, but didn't have time to leave a comment then.
tiggz: (stitch - *headwall*)
oh, fandom. why do you want me to thunk my head? why?! maybe you want me to thunk it so hard i get amnesia and don't remember the asinine things you post. is that it?! hope springs eternal.

and the winner for most ludicrous reason for shipping Edward/Bella goes to the child who posted the following:

Edward is the obvious choice for Bella. With Bella's hatred for shopping Jacob would be all wrong. Since he's a young werewolf he hasn't exactly gotten his temper undercontrol. This causes a lot of torn clothing. That means that Bella would have to take Jacob shopping quite a bit.

wow. i guess Bella doesn't really love Alice since she drags Bella shopping. < sarcasm> (nope, that tag doesn't close!)

the day E/B shippers stop calling Jacob a rapist can't come soon enough for me. i'ma make me a Twilight shirt that has this slogan on it, "rape, you keep using that word. i do not think it means what you think it means."
tiggz: (the bronze)
i was having fun with archive.org and looking up places i used to post and whatnot and i found some things that i felt like sharing.

for the TSSers. look at that! back when i still read spoilers and posted about them. the Magic Box! oh man, we had some fun. does anybody remember officially what year Gina closed the place down? i know [livejournal.com profile] batman made a replacement board for us, but it was never quite the same. oh and does anybody still have contact with MG? when we migrated to lj, he never did follow that i know of.

for the ck.netters/Kanies. i actually found an archive here and there of the message board, but there wasn't really anything all that interesting. i was really hoping i'd come across some of Rachel's insane ramblings because that stuff was classic!! i was trying to remember the ezboard address of the old cheese board, but couldn't and therefore couldn't see if any of the robots had picked up stuff before the great ezboard crash that lost all of our awesomeness. (run-on sentence much?) so if anyone remembers, let me know or just go to archive.org and see if any of the old posts are there. stuff from the Fight Club, for instance. there was some comedy gold in there that is probably lost forever.

for the Bronzers. man, i miss the way the board looked back then. plus, scroll down on that second link. ha!

for the Baters/Bronzers. this was my archive site that i've since taken down. the last day of the Bronze is there, my first day posting, remembering September 11 in 2002 and PBP in 2002. oh and there's also this and this, which document the Penlind debacle. scrolling through those boards was so much fun. there were so many of us posting back then. now it's, like, 5 or 6 regular posters and most of them i don't even like! *shakes head* how times have changed.

okay. thus endeth my walk. now it's time for chinese food.
tiggz: (david cook - *facepalm*)
i decided to check my account balance with AT&T to see just how bad i went over my text messaging plan last month. i owe $89.66. that's $34.40 in overages. bwah! oh DCook, the things i'll do for you. i just counted up the number of texts i sent on finale night and it was 446. i'm guessing with phone calls i voted upwards of 600 times. obsessed? naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

in related news...

yes, please!

if the image kills your flist i can't be held responsible will cut it.
tiggz: (veronica - awww!)
i finished The Host this afternoon. yes, i'm behind. i wanted to wait and see what a few of you said about if before i delved into it. i actually really liked it. i know some people compared it to Twilight because of the love triangle, but nothing in it reminded me of any of the Twilight characters.

i'll cut the rest of this. )

all in all, i'd say if you enjoyed any of the Twilight trilogy you'd enjoy this one. just give it more than the first couple of chapters.
tiggz: (david cook - verklempt)
really quick before i head out the door. David Cook fans are the best. seriously. i really can't wait to hear what David's reaction to this is.

tiggz: (bender - demented and sad but social)
so...who wants to discuss Skins with me? or how about how awesome it is that Brian Austin Green has been made a series regular on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. or maybe how excited this video makes you. or maybe just general squeeing over how awesome DCook is and if he's going to knock it out of the park again tomorrow night.

i'm not picky, i'm just feeling a need to be fandom-y.
tiggz: (david cook - rockstar)
dude. why do i feel so protective of David Cook? why does it bother me SOMUCHOMG when someone calls him smug/pompous/douchey/whatever?!?

i have been having a discussion with some people at b.org since the show ended tonight and i'm still seriously WTF about people calling him that. confident, yes. shy, yes. smug, no fuckin' way!! i just don't. get. it!

i wasn't nearly this protective of Blake last year and people said some pretty shitty things about him too. but i was never this affected by it. maybe DCook is more of a woobie than Blake. hee!
tiggz: (tv - my favorite promotion)
i have to be honest. i'm getting entirely too excited about the Twilight movie after seeing all the pictures people are posting from the location shoots. most especially these. R Pattz is definitely looking more like Edward to me and i never had a problem with Kristen Stewart as Bella. (though i will still admit to being worried about the Jacob casting.) bring it on, Summit Entertainment!

i also have to be honest that i'm really digging Lost again this season. maybe it's because the producers finally have an endgame, i'm not sure. i feel like they know where they're going and they're enjoying messing with my head and for the first time since the first season i'm completely okay with it. plus, it's good to see Harold Perrinau again. he won my heart at the first D:LA. bring it on, Bad Robot!

i'm also completely in love with America's Best Dance Crew. if you're not watching, let me give you some reasons to.

can you tell my favorite episode to date is the Michael Jackson tribute night? tonight's episode was great too though. if i could find a video of it and that headspin i would add it right now. this show is different than SYTYCD in that the contestants are coming up with their own routines. there are some SYTYCD ties though. remember Jamal? Shane Sparks is also one of the judges. i ♥ him.

next week is the finale. so if you can catch up via youtube or some other source, i highly recommend it. there's some pretty phenomenal dancers.
tiggz: (literate fans support the WGA)
i was asked to pass this along. so that's what i'm doing. please go read and if you can afford to donate anything, please do. forget pencils. this will actually help people who probably can't afford christmas/hanukkah for their families. hell, you may even help them keep a roof over their head.

BTL crew need love too.
tiggz: (spike - sarcastic comment)
you know, as crazy as fandom can get, i still love it. even if i'm not as involved as i once was. it's brought me so many good things in my life and i wouldn't trade any of them. hell...some of the worst flame wars i was involved in at the beta are some of my favorite memories because it made me bond with so many of you.

with crazy fandom comes melodrama. being defriended doesn't bother me. in fact, it either amuses me either because i'd been procrastinating on defriending the other person or i'm just apathetic about it. so ummm...if you've been wanting to get rid of me, now's your chance! every day is defriend [livejournal.com profile] tiggz amnesty day!

i never apologize for my opinions. i shouldn't have to because they are opinions. people who do puzzle me. seriously. especially when they post what could be construed as offensive crap and then say "sorry if anyone's offended. that's just my opinion." here's a thought, find a way to state your opinion without being an inconsiderate jackhole and then you don't have to apologize for it. *shrug* to each their own.

*prepares for mass defriending*
tiggz: (stanley - WHAT is wrong with you?)
oh Twilight fandom. my eyes, they are rolling. who cares about the effing movie? movie adaptations of books are never satisfying. we all knew going in that casting Edward(and any of the Cullens, really) was going to be an impossible task because no human is as pretty as they're supposed to be.

see the movie. don't see the movie. i don't care. but all of this chicken little crap before a single shot has been filmed? BO-ring. i'm at least going to give the actors a chance to win me over. who knows, maybe they'll become the mental picture i have when i re-read the books or maybe the movie will be so different from the book that it will be unrecognizable. point is, we don't know. so how about we save the bitching and moaning until after we see the movie?

thus ends my soapbox climb...
tiggz: (veronica - bored now)
i'm bored out of my ever-lovin' mind. who wants to play a rousing game of "corrupt a wish" with me? never heard of it, you say? here's how to play!

one person makes a wish, say, "i wish i could join the Heroes cast with a kickass power!" the next person grants and corrupts the wish, like, "granted! but Sylar finds you before Peter can have his way with you and eats your brains." the granter then posts the next wish.

i'll start. i wish for Dean and Sam Winchester to blow into my town so i can give Dean something to live for. heh.
tiggz: (television addict)
MY IPOD HAS BEEN DELIVERED!!! YaY!!!! you don't know how freaking tempting it is to go home early to play with it.

in fandom-y news, i have been fairly unimpressed with new tv so far, which is a weird feeling for me since i do love me some television. i've given up on Grey's Anatomy because of the whole George/Izzie storyline. i just can't stomach it and i don't like enough of the other characters(*ahem* Meredith, McDreamy, Burke, Calli) to sit through 42 minutes of gritting my teeth. Denny >>>> George. i'm going to pretend like the show ended after Meredith's little brush with death/Denny/Dylan. *nod*

i did give Reaper a try and really liked it. the commercials made it look cheesy and it's not. it's sarcastic and kind of hilarious. i even found myself liking Bret Harrison, which hasn't happened in the guest roles i've seen him in. so i suppose it's been put on the schedule.

Moonlight was the epitome of cheesy and only made worse by use of My Immortal. i will keep watching because i miss seeing Jason Dohring (even though i think his acting was a bit OTT for the pilot) and vampires on my tv. i'm not sure how long i'll keep up with it if it continues to be sucktastic though.

this week? Supernatural!! i'm so excited to see the boys again. there's also FNL, but i've already seen the pilot and i'm worried about certain storylines. that's all i'll say...

suppose i should go do some work.
tiggz: (wayne and garth - not worthy!!)
i know you're probably all dying to know, but i've finished Eclipse. i. love. these. books!!! i want to do an instant reread, but i let my sister borrow Twilight.

i do not hate Jacob Black. )

so now a couple of requests. everyone who's posted about these books, please link me to your posts. i didn't read them before and now i want to know what all of you thought!

also, i've seen icons of people fandom has "cast" as Edward and Bella. where did this originate and why? i definitely don't disagree with Emily Browning as Bella, but i don't really know who i see as Edward.

lastly, where is the most sane part of Twilight fandom on lj?

oh! one more thing. when is the new book coming out? i wanna know what haaaaaaaaaaaappenssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!
tiggz: (the bronze)
so. i bought this book this afternoon. if you've ever been involved in online fandom, you will love this book. it's an insider's look into our little world. buy one for your family and let them read to understand what it means to be a part of a community. the author is a friend of mine and she's an amazing writer. you won't regret it. you can get it now at Barnes & Noble. otherwise, it will be available everywhere August 1st.

Allyson, i took a picture of the display for you. it's under here )
tiggz: (veronica/lilly - memories)
have not scrolled the flist in a few hours. it will have to wait until the morning.

i just wanted to say that even after my tumultuous relationship with Veronica Mars this past season, that was two fantastic episodes and probably the first time i've ever truly been satisfied with a season finale that this show has done. well done, show. well done.

it really hit me when RT's name came up after the episode. there will be no more new Veronica Mars ever again. i honestly can't believe how much it's affecting me. damn you, CW! damn you RT for not making this season as good as those two final episodes! damn fandom for turning on each other!

gah. i need to go to bed.
tiggz: (taylor - the stupid hurts)
hahahaha!!!! oh you guys. i feel like i'm back in the glory days of the beta. read me. obviously the math ability runs in the family. want some history? )

and now you're up to date. i love when random strangers get in arguments and their "family" or "friends" come crawling out of the woodwork to defend them even when they have no interest whatsoever in the topic at hand. oh and invoking the constitutional right of freedom of speech is just C-L-A-S-S-I-C. welcome to the internet. have a cluestick. *snerk* oh and the timing for this is perfect what with the bronze homecoming tomorrow. now where'd i put my high horse?
tiggz: (veronica - tv gods)
since i have quite a few new people on my flist, i thought it was time to do a poll. these are the shows that i am the most involved with/am currently involved with. this isn't even a comprehensive list of what shows i'm watching this year. yes, i watch a lot of tv.

sidenote: does anyone know when Traveler is going to premiere? abc's website just says "coming soon" and tv.com says the 13 ep order has already been cut down to 8. i really hope this isn't one of those pilots that never sees the light of day because i think it could be really interesting.

[Poll #905886]
tiggz: (van den hoogen bonding)
one more post and then it's off to bed with me. i've been watching the Flanvention drama unfold from the sidelines, but i actually had an opportunity to use my whedonesque membership for the first time today.

BE should be ashamed of themselves for what they've done to their fellow fans and i hope every one one of the people whose money was stolen goes after them. con is an appropriate word for this mess in more ways than one. however, this has once again shown me how amazing fandom can be when one of their own is being kicked while they're down. not to mention how amazing the cast of Firefly is. Big Damn Heroes was never a more apt description.

apologies if there are typos. this has been typed with no contacts in my eyes.
tiggz: (logan - STFU)
KB? STFU, please! the following is a reply i just made in this post at [livejournal.com profile] veronica_mars.

i personally don't see it as duncan hate. i see it as Kristen is talking to every reporter as if she's an authority on the show when the truth is she admitted she doesn't even watch it. she only has a grasp of the scenes she films and those are so random and out of order, i'm not surprised she doesn't have a grasp on what happened in seasons one and two.

in my opinion logan is better than duncan. sure, he was an ass to her in season one after she chose her father over her friends. however, he also changed his opinion after she helped him find the truth out about his mother. then the kiss. then the private relationship. then everyone finds out and he tells his friends if they have a problem with her, they're dead to him. season two he was an ass because the girl had broken his heart. i've met plenty of guys like that.

duncan on the other hand broke up with her without telling her why. proceeded to pretend as if she didn't exist until he saw troy and logan show interest in her. he slept with her while he still believed her to be his sister and made her think she'd been raped for over a year. we won't even discuss how he let logan and everyone else treat her during that year. his specialty, after all, is standing idly by.

yeah...duncan's a stellar example of the perfect boyfriend. *dreamy sigh* </sarcasm>

i actually didn't have a problem with duncan until RT decided to retcon all the crap he did in season one and force him down our throats as v's twu wuv. i thought he had a lot of potential. they threw that away with 2x01 though.

why is this so hard to understand? seriously. fandom is fucking nuts.
tiggz: (veronica - bored now)
oh, fandom. where has the snark gone? seriously. [livejournal.com profile] vm_anonymous isn't even entertaining in a trainwreck kind of way. it's just...boring. it always devolves into slamming fanfic writers? bo-ring. i'll eat my hat if the next one of these things that crops up doesn't mention them. can we find something else to bitch about, please? at least [livejournal.com profile] vm_truthiness has been original with the things he/she/it is posting.

in unrelated news, i talked to a customer a little while ago whose name was Charles Brown. i said, "you probably hear a lot of Charlie Brown jokes, huh?" and he said he'd heard them all. heh. i was tempted to speak like one of the adults from the cartoon, but i restrained myself.
tiggz: (veronica - *fingers*)
i'm not going to mention how much i love the VM fandom because really, it goes without saying. you guys are made of so much awesome it's not even funny.

the real reason i'm posting is to give those interested the setlist from the Common Ro show on friday night. i also have a couple of goodies that i'll put at the end of the post. i've been trying to wait on the guys to upload a song from that night to their myspace account, but they're slacking. (touring is hard. yeah...whatever. *g*)

i really don't think they played all of these, but since they were all new songs, i have no idea which ones were played and which ones weren't. this album definitely sounds like it's going to be more folk-y than The Big Fear. i liked everything i heard though.

goodies are back here... )
tiggz: (veronica - start watching VM. or else..)
here's the deal, people. i've been pimping the hell out of this show for 2 years. we've just been renewed for another season. we're moving to a merged network that will hopefully be in more markets. more markets better equal better ratings. (pleasepleaseplease)

i know i've always said this is a show that must be watched from the beginning. i'm willing to acquiesce that this isn't necessarily the case. it has definitely been my experience, but i'm willing to accept that not everyone is as fanatical about television as i or my other converts are. so. with that being said, UPN will be re-airing the second season premiere at 9/8 CST tonight. if you want a brief(extremely brief) rundown of what happened in season one, check out [livejournal.com profile] cindywrites' post here.

give the show a try. it's only an hour and really, what do you have to lose? think of all the squeeing you could participate in. ;)
tiggz: (veronica's world)
i'm finally rewatching Not Pictured. i had to watch the first five episodes from this season of The Office before i could jump in.

so here goes. i'm sure most of my flist has seen the ep by now, but do not click if you haven't seen the season two finale! )

for those avoiding negative posts about the ep, this isn't one of them. i loved it. very much so.
tiggz: (kristen - LOL)
VM fandom is cracking my shit up lately. see [livejournal.com profile] sweetcynic23's post here for an example. tears. rolling. down. my face.

also? i may have a new favorite VM song. Sia - Breathe Me (the Four Tet remix). i'm not sure if i prefer this version or the original though. very good stuff. is Rob still choosing the music? if so, i kind of love him.
tiggz: (veronica - what is your problem?)
wow. did someone piss in the VM fandom's wheaties this morning? everyone's so uptight about their opinions today. say it with me, people. "everyone has a right to express their opinion whether it be negative or positive. as long as they're respectful towards others." people who aren't? mostly deserved to be ignored because, as we would say in the bronze world, they are bezoars. also known as trolls. just looking for any kind of attention they can get. there's also bandwagon jumpers who see what the consensus seems to be saying and just rolls with it.

for the record, i was "meh" on Duncan. there was a lot of potential there, but it was never tapped. that being said, i loved Donut Run. so there you go.

when did i become the mellow one?
