i know you're probably all dying to know, but i've finished Eclipse. i. love. these. books!!! i want to do an instant reread, but i let my sister borrow Twilight.

in fact, for the first time in forever i do believe i'm a dual shipper. they're both just so...guh!! i'm not sure i could have chosen if i were Bella. i adore Edward and the way he is with Bella, but Jacob is just as sweet. the end of Eclipse had me tearing up as much as, if not more, than New Moon did.

so now a couple of requests. everyone who's posted about these books, please link me to your posts. i didn't read them before and now i want to know what all of you thought!

also, i've seen icons of people fandom has "cast" as Edward and Bella. where did this originate and why? i definitely don't disagree with Emily Browning as Bella, but i don't really know who i see as Edward.

lastly, where is the most sane part of Twilight fandom on lj?

oh! one more thing. when is the new book coming out? i wanna know what haaaaaaaaaaaappenssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!

You know, it's funny. I devoured the first two books and enjoyed them muchly, yet I don't seem to share the love for Bella/Edward. I think I just get annoyed with her uber-obsession with him and her complete inability to function without him. I get that it's all mystical and shit, but...dammit, I want her to have more spine!

That said, I couldn't put either book down and will buy the third as soon as it comes out.

Here's my post, although I'm pretty sure I was totally cracked-out and exclamation-point-y at the time, and probably not very fair to Jacob. I really want to do a re-read of all three books when I'm not sleep-deprived and speed reading in order to get back to the next Edward scene. I WAS OBSESSED, but I think if I reread them in a more...sanely manner my opinions would change a bit. Heh. Anyway.

YES. I can't help it. I love Bella's relationships with both Jacob AND Edward. There's this great passion and romance with Bella/Edward, but there's just so much heart that endears you to Bella/Jacob. *sigh* I'm totally torn. I'll be happy with either outcome (though I KNOW what endgame is), but my heart will still break for whoever comes out the "loser" in this triangle.

[livejournal.com profile] actualheroin is the sanest you're gonna get in Twilight fandom - a couple people from my flist started it - it's more snarky and a lot less crazy. [livejournal.com profile] tasteofperfect is the main one, i think. It's not too bad, but there are a lot of youngin's in this fandom, so there's really no escape from the wtf?crazy! But I will warn you - there's not a whole lot of love for Jacob Black in this fandom. We're definitely in the minority.

And it's been pretty much set from the start that Gaspard Ulliel (or whatever) is fandom's Edward - though there are the tweenies who are all CHAD MICHAEL MURRAY!!1!1 lol

And the only reason I know this much about Twilight fandom is b/c of the people on my flist who participate. I stay FAR away lol

Okay. So. Yes. I'm totally a dual shipper as well. I was bawling in New Moon (I'm sure it didn't help any that I was having a massively down day, depression wise, when I read Edward leaving.) and I got a lil misty a few times in Eclipse.

My nitpicks -- one is fandom related. I've seen people sing Edward's virtues, and proclaim him to be "perfect" ... and then slam Jacob for the exact same things that they say make Edward perfect. That bugs me. Neither one of them is perfect, and those flaws are what make it so much more real and endearing.

On her site, Stephenie says that in Eclipse, Bella finally fully comprehends the price for becoming a vampire. I ... really don't think she does. She might understand fully that there are people in her life she'll be giving up and never seeing again. But that's really just one small part of it all.

If Edward really wanted to dissuade her from becoming a vamp -- it seems like, to me, there's one thing he could've done. He could've/should've explained to her more about feeding. She knows he hunts animals, and drinks blood. But I don't feel like she comprehends the actuallity of hunting/killing/feeding/etc.

Also. Okay. The sight/smell of blood makes Bella nauseous. Is it just me -- or does it seem like that could make for some interesting problems when she first turns, until she learns to deal with it fully?
