it's like the old days!

hahahaha!!!! oh you guys. i feel like i'm back in the glory days of the beta. read me. obviously the math ability runs in the family.
skap234 posted basically saying season three sucked, that the killing of Lamb was stupid and that he didn't understand why Logan and Veronica were still engaged in the dating game. people, of course, responded. especially about the Logan/Veronica stuff.
skap234 gets huffy with a lot of people because they dare disagree with him. he tells my co-mod
_voxy that she's an angry person and needed to chill out simply because she told him that reading community rules before posting was always a good idea. i jump in at that point and tell him it's a good idea to listen to the mod of the community he's posting in. at this point i think he realizes he's made a faux pas and deletes the entire post. 200+ comments and all. comments that people took quite a bit of time composing.
then he comes back days later and posts what i've linked to above. i respond with:
for the record, i really hate when people delete posts just because they don't like the responses they're getting. you HAD TO know that what you posted was going to ignite some flames and possibly burn you. the tone alone could've had that effect. much less what was in the post.
really i just hate that all the time people spent composing their thoughts to you has been erased into the ether because you didn't like the responses you were getting. that's not fair to those who were willing to take the time to debate the topic with you. isn't that what you wanted? or did you just expect everyone to fall in line and just post things like "IAWTC" or "hear hear!"?
his reply:
No, I deleted the post because many of the comments were unrelated to what was going on, and no, I did not expect everyone to agree with what I said. Never assume what someone means. I was trying to be nice and correct mistakes that were made, but seriously, chill out. I didn't fully explain myself in the post, and it was creating the same questions over and over, but if I edited it, then the comments wouldn't make sense, and in many of the comments I was basically getting attacked and responding in a manner that was not in regulations with your rules, so I deleted the post for those reasons. You of all people should know I have no problems arguing, since you said you read all the comments.
and then my rebuttal:
i didn't see that many comments that were unrelated to your original post. just people wondering where you'd been for the past two and a half seasons if you didn't know why Logan and Veronica were dating. that seemed to be the biggest lightning rod.
please stop saying things like "Never assume what someone means." you are not my mother nor my father. it smacks of pretention and condescension. it would also be good if you wouldn't assume that i'm not completely "chilled out". i'm chilled. i just don't appreciate people deleting posts when said post has generated so much debate and people have taken time out of their day to respond to you. it's inconsiderate to all the other members of this community.
you were hardly being attacked. i saw more of you being a condescending ass than anyone attacking you. i don't have a problem with people expressing their dislike with things you say or how you say them. (generic you.) i just don't want it to devolve into a poo flinging contest where no one escapes without smelling like poo.
finally, is there a particular reason you feel the need to change your font color every time you post? not everyone views their livejournal with the same layout and the abuse of colors may very well make this near impossible to read on their friends page.
it got ugly when he decided to delete my and
_voxy's comments. this takes us to this thread.
and now you're up to date. i love when random strangers get in arguments and their "family" or "friends" come crawling out of the woodwork to defend them even when they have no interest whatsoever in the topic at hand. oh and invoking the constitutional right of freedom of speech is just C-L-A-S-S-I-C. welcome to the internet. have a cluestick. *snerk* oh and the timing for this is perfect what with the bronze homecoming tomorrow. now where'd i put my high horse?
