Extreme Home Makeover: Home Edition is in my town!!

i am so happy for this family. their home was completely demolished by the tornado that came through here in april and the mother was paralyzed while protecting her children from the chaos. they just had a special van donated to them a few weeks ago so that she could get to and from her physical therapy and just generally get around town without having to rely on someone to help get her and her chair into a car. it has the special controls so she can eventually drive it herself. all in all i'd say they're on the road to recovering from this disaster.

now i have to figure out where exactly they live because i need to stalk Ty, Preston, Ed and Paul.

in unrelated news, i bought this. i keep saying i need something to play my music when i'm outside in the pool. now i have it! i also got bandit a new harness. he's less than impressed with it and if looks could've killed, i'd be dead. he was cracking me up when i took him outside with it on for the first time. he kept rolling around in the grass trying to figure out a way to get it off. hee! animals are fun-nee...

I've been meaning to ask you, how was The Format? Did Rainer Maria open for them by chance? I just noticed they are both playing here next month, I may need to hit that show.

they were amazing!! i'm trying to find a cheap flight to chicago so i can go to that show on the 18th with

chi2cali. so far no luck.

rainer maria was one of three bands that opened for them. they were good, but they were the final opening act and i'd been standing for 2+ hours in the same spot in unbearable heat and i was just ready for The Format to come on. i was getting kinda crabby. so my suggestion to you if you're planning on seeing them. buy your ticket online and be late to the show. i say buy your tickets online because they've been selling out pretty much every venue. streets to nowhere and anathallo are good, but i think i'm getting too old to be crammed into a tiny venue with a bunch of kids.

I *love* Extreme Home Makeover. When you think of the lives they've changed, the impact they've had on so many lives. I like to think of the kids that have been given college or school help, or in some way were able to have a dream of theirs come true. You never know how you change your world when you help in the life of a child. Magic happens. Ty is a doll, but I think Paul is my favorite. I hope you get a chance to watch it all happen.

That show never fails to make me cry like a baby!

I love that show. It makes me cry every single time, but I love it. We've just watched one of the Holiday Wishes shows, and we were both sobbing by the end of it! If you manage to track down the team, give them all a big hug from me :)

Thanks for the suggestion. I know what you mean, I've passed on a few shows just because they had too many other bands playing, after a while it's enough already. If I go I'll definitely take my time getting there.
