VM nostalgia

i just watched the first four eps of season one of VM. guys, this show was SO GOOD. it really made me realize how much i missed loving these characters and their relationships with each other. the drama. the comedy. the music. the lighting. the hairstyles. the clothes. THE KISS!! just...everything. i miss it. SO MUCH.

i might end up doing a complete rewatch because i really do need to remind myself why i fell in love with this show.

i also hunted around youtube and my hard drive for fanvids/faux trailers that will always be near and dear to my heart. youtube only really turned up a few faux trailers that naty_ and zimshan made. so i thought i'd upload the others to my webspace and share them in case any of you missed them or just wanted to revel in the nostalgia with me.

Ohhh, "Feeling Good" and "A Better Son" are my two favorite VM vids ever, ever. But I'm downloading these other two--I don't know if I've seen them.

YEP. I'm right there with you, I MISS it. I popped in a random S1 disk a few nights ago and it almost hurt to watch, I miss it so much.

I'm probably going to do a full S1 rewatch at some point this summer because I don't want the whole experience to end on a sour note. It'll be 1x01-1x22, then basically include whatever canon I want after that and make up the rest. :) I'm creative like that.

So there with you. The pilot was on TV here the other day and I could have cried, I actually feel really emo when I watch S1 this show had so much promise and missed opportunities. Its like a totally different show now...a totally different show that I just don't enjoy!

Man .. just watching naty_'s montage ... there were actual angles and wideshots, and slow-motion, and just .... inventive directing that played into the noir. The scene settings were another character in the show. Verornica's voiceovers mattered. Argh.

It WAS so good, wasn't it? Last night, as I was laying in bed, I decided that one of the reasons the show isn't nearly as good is the lack of Lilly. She was so, so important to the show. I seriously think that if the show had just been one season, we all would've been much happier (in the long run).

I know what you mean about going back and realizing how different and how completely awesome S1 is compared to what's airing now. Just everything about it is 10 million times better.

I've seen all of those, and they are all completely amazing. Astarte's "Feeling Good" was the first vid I can remember ever going "Woooahhh" about after it had ended, and zimshan's editing with the use of that monologue is awesome.

And "Colorblind" totally blew me away. The editing and the color/b&w effects are just all around incredible.
