one last rare political post.
Nov. 5th, 2008 09:28 ammy fingers are itching to type so many things, but right now i'm annoyed and irritated and feeling a bit passive aggressive. so i'm going to try to keep this as even-tempered as i can.
i will say that Obama was not my choice for President. McCain was not my choice for President. i would have been disappointed no matter who won. i don't have faith (blind or otherwise) in any politician to think they are truly looking out for me, my friends or my family. i guess that's the pessimist in me. i'm glad some of you do have that faith and i truly hope you aren't dissapointed in 2 years...or 4. i hope he lives up to those expectations and promises. i really do.
that being said, i'd like to remind people that four years ago, quite a few Democrats threatened to "move to Canada" or whatever and though i roll my eyes at that sentiment, it is people's right to be upset that their candidate didn't win and make empty threats. it's human nature to say the most dramatic thing when we're upset and want to take out our frustrations.
so i guess i'm just trying to say that so much of what i see Republicans posting today is equivalent to what i saw from the Democrats four and eight years ago. so...you know, glass houses and all that jazz. be kind to each other. Republicans aren't the devil. Democrats aren't the Anti-Christ. we all just want to believe that the people we choose to support are going to do right by us.
