oh and thanks to [livejournal.com profile] eatstake and [livejournal.com profile] halfrek2, i now have all of my files on this computer. there's not enough squee in the world!!!

(sidenote: can anyone recommend a free FTP program? the one i was using is on my old computer's master HD and it's not likely i'll get it off of there.)

The FTP program I use is SmartFTP. I haven't had any issues with it personally, and yes it's free. CuteFTP is free as well I think. I used that one for awhile. And there is WSFTP LE.

If you want SmartFTP or WSFTP just let me know. :)

Hope this is of some help.

I use Core ftp Lite. But there might be better programs that I'm not aware of, I'm still pretty new to the whole thing.

I usually use WSFTP (the LE version). It's sorta free. That is, it's free if you are a student or educator or government employee. Um, but, they just *ask* you if you are one of those, and if you answer "Yes," then it'll download. Although, I will admit, that for 9 of the 10 years I've used FTP programs, I've fit one (or more) of those categories, so, I never felt too bad about having it.

CuteFTP's okay (I prefer WSFTP), especially since the free version has ads.

I use SmartFTP and WSFTP LE. I prefer WSFTP LE, but they no longer offer it for download on their website. I can send it to you if you'd like though.
