there have been some posts on my flist recently that tout movies they've seen as the WORST. MOVIE. EVER!!! every time i see posts such as these i think to myself, "self, have these people seen Harvard Man?" in most cases i must conclude that no, it's not possible that they've seen Harvard Man and can still call any other movie the worst they've seen.

Harvard Man isn't even bad in such a way as one can mock it a la [livejournal.com profile] eirefaerie and [livejournal.com profile] dachelle. it's so bad i've done everything i can to brain bleach it. truly. so if you find yourself wanting to watch it even after this post, don't blame me.

with an un-pimp, i feel the need to pimp. do you know who Tina Majorino is? sure you do! when she was a wee little thing she was in such movies as Corrina, Corrina and Andre. these days she's all grown up and starring in such movies as Napoleon Dynamite and extremely awesome shows like Veronica Mars and Big Love. i'm not going to pimp her acting even though it's phenomenal. what i am going to pimp is her band, The AM Project. go give 'em a listen. she has a great voice, there are great harmonies, good hooks and a pretty wide range of appeal.

Hee. I forgot to reply to this comment on my post, but I haven't actually ever seen Harvard Man, and now, thanks to you, never will! It's a public service, what you're doing here. :D

I haven't, and won't, see harvard Man. That said, I still stand by Troll 2 being the worst movie ever made. Oh, and it's ranked #2 (1.9 out of 10 raating) on the imdb worst list with From Justin to Kelly at #1.

Harvard Man is one seriously bad flick. I think the acid trips are what put it over the top into legendary bad.

However, Harvard Man cannot be the worst movie ever. It doesn't have Bo Derek in it. See Bolero or Tarzan, the Ape Man (with Richard Harris' 30 minute death scene) for truly incredibly bad dialogue. They make Harvard Man look merely mediocre by comparison.

I have not seen Harvard Man, but I have seen Biodome. And Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, which was so bad that it was actually enjoyable.

Oh, trust me. We could mock it. So long as we stocked up first on some anti-seizure medication. UGH. HORRID.

Normally, I am anti-actor bands, because most seem to just be vehicles to promote the actor's ego (with a few notable exceptions), but Tina's seems to be, you know, a band. I'm not sure I *love* her voice - i'm more a fan of the sort of throaty, gravelly female voice, but they're pretty good. LOVE their cover art.

There is no way that "From Justin to Kelly" is worse than "Manos: The Hands of Fate." Impossible.

I'm sure it's been mentioned before, but seriously, "Manos: Hands of Fate" makes everything else pretty much look like an Oscar contendor. And I've only seen the MST3K version of it, I think I'd kill myself if I saw the whole movie. *g*

"Manos": The Hands of Fate is 36 at 2.3 rating (this charts move daily as Troll 2 is now listed at #4, but tied for first) but it could also only be thought of as in 6th if you count everything tied as a single spot.

Yeah, but imdb doesn't really mean anything, because the vote totals are different for each movie. The fact that The Smokers rates 48th worst film with such a low number of votes (75th place if you look at the list by vote amount) says, "I'm special! I truly blow!."

imdb should do some sort of ratio thingie with the number of votes and the vote ratings. It would produce a more objective list.

Don't mind me, I'm feeling extra geeky and really tired right now.

True, but would the fact that 9000+ voters saying a movie sucked would mean more than 1000 voters? Should it be the other way around? I'm just always happy to see my least fav film (and I've unfortunatley seen a few of these band films) is right at the very bottom. ;)

apparently tina's been singing since she could talk. i went to imdb and read her bio. it's pretty interesting. she's a dancer too. even helped choreograph Napoleon Dynamite's routine in the movie.
