tiggzi'm going to copy and paste some of my very favorite reviews from that link i posted earlier. some of these are hilarious! i will lj-cut because this could get long...
now keep in mind that these are all from different people. for every good review, there were ten bad ones. ridiculous!
Weaknesses:
Worst "Cadillac" ever made!! A 5 year production run?? Shoulda named it 'THE CRAPERA'
Strengths:
CATERA IS NOT BEING MADE ANYMORE!!!
Summary:
I have been in love with cadillacs for a long time until now!!!I bought the beautiful little car for my wife and two weeks later,my wife was saying the car has GREMLINS in it. We have had everything go wrong. The gremlins started in the front of the car. My windshield wipers stopped in the rain. The door lockes decided when and if they would open the doors. The dealer finally opened the door,got in and then couldn't get out.
Weaknesses:
Everything once you turn the car on.
Summary:
We bought car in early 2000 with 18,000 miles in it, car was sure pretty. After that it was down hill, it was in the shop more than 12 times in the next year, that god we bought extended warrenty, we needed it, what a piece of crap that car was.We were able to keep it going for another 2 years, because we owed to much on it. the tires wore out all the time, it would shut off while driving. WE weren't notified of the recall on this car, well this past May, I was driving down the highway doing 55 and the thing shuts off again, which makes the steering wheel lock, and I can't steer. It went off the road and missed a tree by 2 feet. That was it for us. I could be dead.......

Not only do I NOT have adequate space to document all the weaknesses, but time also restricts me from telling all.

1997 year had to many problems. When they point and laugh at you for owning one at the dealership you know something is slighlty wrong. Tons of recalls and poor track record

Makes a great lawn ornament when broken down, can use as a flower planter.

THIS CAR HAS WAY TOO MANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS. I FEEL THIS IS A VERY STRONG CAR AND I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEM WITH IT, I HAVE A 100,000 EXTENDED WARRANTY ON IT ANYWAYS. ITS A CADILLAC, YOU EXPECT REPAIRS TO BE CHEAP???? DONT OWN IT IF YOU CANT AFFORD IT!
oh and that one? i want to smack the guy. hello, dumbass! look at the year you drive(2000) then look at the years of the people complaining(1997-1999). people are ignorant.
