after seeing the awfulness that is the trailer for the american remake of Life on Mars i decided to start a rewatch of the original. really i tried to get my sister to watch with me, but she's been pretty uninterested in tv lately. so i'm going on without her.

it's amazing to me how cheesy that american trailer made the show seem. i really hope people find a way to see the original because John Simm and Phillip Glenister are LoM.

there are so many shows that i want to do massive rewatches of. Buffy, Angel, Farscape, Supernatural. the list goes on and on. there's really not enough time in the day. i'm really looking forward to the long weekend because i plan on doing absolutely nothing.

OMG that ia horrible and so very wrong on many levels. i LOVED the original. i should finish the sequel, Ashes to Ashes soon. RL got in the way. i cannot see the remake American version actually working at all. the casting seems wrong...so very wrong.

no one can replace the original Gene Genie ;) they could have at least tried to get someone better for the Sam Tyler role. yes i am biased.

i will have to see if i can find an old BBC trailer for LoM. just to compare. sometimes i really just hate AMerican tv in general...esp their trailers b/c they just cater to the lowest denominator.

So are you saying that the US one will pale in comparison to the UK one? Because I might have to watch the UK one then.

They did try to get Phillip Glenister in the American one apparently. According to him they asked him to come over for the role dependant on him being able to do the accent. He was tempted but since there was no guarantee that the show would be picked up and planning Ashes To Ashes he decided to turn them down.

That trailer made me feel icky. Way to totally screw up a unique and thought-provoking premise, ABC. Really, way to go.

Plus, the VO and the music selections made me vomit a bit in my mouth. YUCKO.

Maybe I'm overreacting, but LoM is very dear to me, damnit. I hate to see it getting the Cheap American Knockoff treatment.
