okay...so the ipod is only a little over half full and i'm actually getting tired of the songs i already have uploaded. so this is your chance to recommend some songs to me. surely by now you all know what kind of songs i like.

yousendit.com or youshareit.com would be appreciated, but if you don't have the song on your computer, just recommend it and i'll find it somehow. :)

this doesn't just have to be new stuff or random things people have never heard of. it can be oldies, 80s...whatever. umkay? umkay.

Lately I've been loving a lot of Ben Folds and his piano...There is a song called "The Luckiest" that just rules.

I'm also a huge fan of Jude..."I'm sorry now" is a personal favorite

Oh! And Jeff Buckley "Last Goodbye"

Of course, none of these are on my computer, but if you can find them, let me know what you think!

ANYTHING from The Nields. "Glow-in-the-Dark Plastic Angel" is especially good.

"Wires" by Athlete is a good one or "Oh my god" by the Kaiser Chiefs.

Most of my recommendations are from the 70's and early 80's *g*

Hotel California by Styx. Heck, most of the songs on the Pieces of Eight album are worthy.

Don't Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult.

Pour Some Sugar On Me by Def Leppard.

Pretty much anything from Van Halen's 1984 album.

Okay, so I guess it was pretty much the early eighties. Most of these songs are great to listen to in the car, especially the Van Halen.

Angry chick music:

Rainer Maria - Ears Ring

You love Butterfly Boucher and Frou Frou. You will love Ivy:

Ivy - Worry About You
Ivy - While We're in Love
Ivy - Undertow

"Edge of the Ocean" was on VM, and if you want it after hearing those, I'll give it to you.

I'm planning on rec'ing some, but it's late, and I'm tired...so I'll try to upload some in the next day or two. Although since I was musically illiterate (outside of the classical stuff I learned from my mom) until I got cool-music-loving friends, I may not have anything you haven't heard. *g*

I just got back from seeing Better Than Ezra, so at the moment I've got At the Stars and In the Blood bouncing around in my head. Saw Interpol a few weeks ago, so I've been listening to Next Exit, PDA & NYC among others. A few other songs you may want to check out:

M83 - Don't Save Us From the Flames
Eisley - Marvelous Things
Wheatus - Lemonade

Oh, and I second the Ivy recommendation. Try The Best Thing, I've Got A Feeling & Get Out of the City. Bouncy, happy pop music perfect for driving on a beautiful sunny spring day. Let me know what you think.

Okay. Neither of the ysis wanted to cooperate with me, so I uploaded some to my webspace.

Snow Patrol - How to Be Dead
Because I can't not pimp Snow Patrol at any opportunity.

The Lightning Seeds - The Life of Riley
It's just good fun. It's hard to keep from smiling when listening to it.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Maps
[livejournal.com profile] ginger1978 has sent me two songs by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and I like this one a little bit better. I nearly uploaded them both. (The other is "Pin".)

Bright Eyes - Nothing Gets Crossed Out
Pretty mellow and melodic.

The Beatles - P.S. I Love You
It's a little known secret that I probably have more Beatles music on my computer than any other band. This is one of the early ones, but it's so sweet, I can't help liking it a lot. And hey, you said oldies! (I don't do '80s, due to extreme '80s dislike. *g*)

Rilo Kiley - Spectacular Views
I had this one going through my head after hearing it once. That never happens.

The Doves - Pounding
Just wait for the 2:50 mark. Every time it gets to that point and the guitar picks up, I can't help but break into a huge smile. Of course, I love guitars. *shrug*

Collective Soul - Run
I think this one has been on every one of the "current favorite" CDs I've burned since I got it.

There. You've probably heard all or most of them before, but they're sort of a cross-section of my current favorites. Let me know if the links don't work. I typed them in by hand.

I don't know why the last four don't work.

Here, I threw up a page with the links. And they work. I checked. *g*

Now, if this link works...

Research shows there have been alot of covers of Don't Fear the Reaper

1 (Don't Fear) The Reaper The Beautiful South
2 Don't Fear the Reaper Goo Goo Dolls
3 Don't Fear the Reaper Gus
4 Don't Fear The Reaper Apollo 440
5 (Don't Fear) The Reaper Big Country
6 (Don't Fear) The Reaper Dragstrip
7 Don't Fear the Reaper Clint Ruin & Lydia Lunch
8 (Don't Fear) The Reaper HIM
9 (Don't Fear) The Reaper Mutton Birds
10 (Don't Fear) The Reaper Unto Ashes
11 (Don't Fear) The Reaper RetroMotive
12 Don't Fear the Reaper Thanatos
13 Don't Fear the Reaper Jerry Chapman
14 (Don't Fear) The Reaper Wolf
15 (Don't Fear) The Reaper Prozak For Lovers

However, the version in The Stand was the original by Blue Oyster Cult. Doesn't surprise me, because when Stephen King first wrote the novel, he was probably listening to BOC at the time (or at least it was music he grew up listening to). IIRC, he also quoted the lyrics in the novel.
