decorating my non-existant house!!! for example? last weekend, i bought furniture in preparation of the day i move out.

these were taken with my camera phone. so they aren't the best quality, but you can get the gist.

my kitchen table. you can't see the detail of the table top, but it's really cool.

my couch!

it's all being stored in my sister's garage until i get a place.

now i can't quit looking for a nice, inexpensive cherry headboard/footboard on craigslist. oh and i'm also in love with some art and rugs at target.

i think i need an intervention.

Hiya, Tiggy! *Hugs!* Sorry I haven't been commenting so much lately. I'm moving into a new apartment, and the health problems and other day to day crap I deal with have been keeping me in touch with maybe ten people most of the time. I see you are needing an intervention. Well, as it happens, I excel at intervention! I'm not sure, but I think "intervention" is probably French for "Get right into her veins and change her mind about all the shopping!" And I was going to do that for you, I really was, then I saw that picture of that coffee table, and said "OOOHHH! I like that!" And then, I really like the first and second "art" ones. Since I am in the middle of moving, and thus looking at things and thinking how nice they would look in MY new place, I am probably not so good at this intervention thing right now, but I will try to come back after I'm all done moving and firmly tell you, "Tiggy, you need to stop!" And, then, you need to hop into your car and drive up to Ohio and come and visit me in the new home of ducky, which I will be calling "La Maison de Mignon," which actually IS French for "The Home of ducky!" We can go to that fancy French store, Tarjay (but, being French, they spell it Target), and maybe that place where they sell wals (Wal-Mart), even though I'm not sure if the wals will fit in my new home. Plus, we have a Family Dollar store, where the whole family can go and spend their dollars. Yep, if a shopping trip with ducky don't cure you of shopping, nothing will!

hugs from ducky

I COVET YOUR COUCH! You can always find me snuggled in the corner seat of those kinds of couches.

The coffee table is super-pretty and it looks like it's got a slate top, which is a material I adore. But it...also looks like it would not be comfortable to put my legs on, which is a bad judging criteria (since you're not supposed to put your feet on furniture and everything) but it would totally rule something like that out for my family room.

Wow. You really are a good shopper. I love the details in the furniture, and I absolutely love your kitchen table.

I love the coffe table, where did you get it??

I am starting to buy stuff for my place. I got one of those storage kits you see advertised on TV-the revolving storage rack with the 18 different containers with lids that are one size fits all plus a set of cast iron pans and a wok set for $30 (brand new).

That coffee table is amazing and the couch looks comfy as hell...er...perhaps heaven?

And I actually think we had one of those rugs on our registry, lol.

hahaha!! you make me laugh, ducky. i would love to hop in my car and visit La Maison de Mignon, but i think i'd better save my money for wall art. ;)

seriously though, Tarjay will be my downfall one of these days. i can't ever get out of there without spending $100 or more.

i can't wait to actually use my couch!!

the coffee table is indeed slate. the good thing about coffee tables of any kind is that you can put a pillow on top of them to make them more comfortable for your legs. ;)

there's this place in town called Price Point Furniture. it's where i got everything and it was all really affordable. like, ridiculously so. the funny thing? i just saw a very similar coffee table posted on craigslist last night for $50, which is a good $150 less than what i paid. oh well...

whoever thought up those lids that are one size fits all is a genius. i'm definitely getting some of those too.
