invite codes are now gone. let's all cross our fingers that there isn't a bum rush of sign-ups that cause the site to crash. i do remember when we didn't need invite codes to sign up(i didn't need one), but that was before livejournal was as popular as it is today.

when they make huge changes like this to lj, it makes me want to back up all of my entries. anyone know of a good way to do that? i just don't want to lose all the history i have going on here.

Oh man...I don't know if I like this...

This means that more and more "curious" people could add us to friends lists and stuff. :-(

Also, what did they do about giving us paid time for our unused codes? I don't know if I'm going to like this.

yeah...i don't know if i like it either. they already have trouble giving us reliable servers.

as for "curious" people adding you to their friends list, well that's why i like my basic "friends only" journal.

they haven't made a decision about the invite codes yet. i have about 10 though. :)

i don't like it. not at all. nope. it sucks not only for the server issue but also because of the prying eyes and lj seemed to be a nice little quiet corner of the internet. i guess we'll see what happens now.

so if i waited a month to sign up, i would have not needed that very important, exclusive-let-me-please-be-part-of-the-club-cuz-i've-got-maybe-some-important-things-to-say code is gone away with? so now the LJ is going to go the way of the Bronze and the Beta? as jen said, they have made lj commericals. i know that LJ was never 'elite' to start with, but as silly as it sounds i dont like the idea of just anyone signing up. i remember when LJ was code-free loads of people from school found my journal. it makes me say 'yay for friends only'.
