so...i have a relatively new person on my flist and she works in "the biz". she just made a post about a screen writers conference that's going to be happening here in nashville. a special guest appearance is going to be made by none other than Christian Kane. *snerk*

times like these i wish the Kanies were closer to me so we could go heckle. because you know he's going to be hitting the local bars to sing while he's here. hmm...maybe i should go check out kanemusic.com to see if steve is following him here like a little puppy dog.

i always think the bitterness is gone until someone casually brings up his name and doesn't know the history.

ION, what is with the popular girls from my high school all being dental hygienists of some sort. a girl i can't stand is one at my orthodontics place and then today i went to see an oral surgeon about having my wisdom teeth pulled and the freaking head cheerleader was the girl taking down all my info. she was nice back then and still was today. remembered me and asked what i was up to. still...weird that they all seem to have chosen the same kind of profession.

Hm, I have never seen him perform (but then, the last PBP was pretty much my only con of that type), but I didn't know there was bitterness or history. :-\

i've seen him perfom live once. that was in chicago last year. from what i saw? you aren't missing a whole lot. i was less than impressed. of course, i'm also bitter as hell. that could have been a factor.

i have a post saved on my hd that i made trying to sum up the history there. i shall repost.

it's a long story. i will attempt to sum it up. i was one of his(and his band's) biggest supporters. i promoted them both like there was no tomorrow(there are plenty of people here to back me up on that). Chris and the rest of the band borrowed money from one of the band member's family to record their album in the studio, promote their band, set up gigs, etc etc. meanwhile, Chris and Steve Carlson went to another label and signed a contract with them. essentially cutting out NorCal(the previous management that they owed all the money to) and the band member whose family had been taken advantage of.

they didn't consult any of the other band members about doing this. they went behind their and NorCal's back so they wouldn't have to pay that money back.

now they've released a cd. the band member they've cut out, Mike Eaton, wrote 95% of those songs. he hasn't seen a dime from the cd sales. (update: last i heard on this was that Mike had received a very small check from Brand X.)

they're liars and they're thieves and i am not going to support someone like that.

there's more, but this is the gist.

Wow, that's insane. It sucks to believe in someone and support them only to see them turn out like that.

there's also more with regards to crazy fans and censorship, but i won't get into that.

One of the most popular girls from my high school was one of the managers at my apartment complex. It was weird. She was a NICE popular girl though (we actually had a lot of those - my school was weird).
