lj is of the major suck right now. i'm not getting email notification about all the comments you guys are leaving me. just random ones here and there. so if i'm not responding, it could very well be because of that. very annoying and i wish they'd get the whole server move completed so everything is in working order again. userpics are irritating too. gah!

while i'm complaining, i'm gonna mention an issue i've been having with the ipod. 99% of the time i have it shuffling my entire library and then just skip the songs i'm not in the mood to hear. well...about 2 weeks ago i noticed that it would list a song on the display, but it would skip over it. when i'd try to go back and listen it would skip it again. it seemed to be doing it on two very specific artists Aerosmith and The Format. so i hooked it up to iTunes, deleted those songs and re-uploaded them. it seemed to do the trick and i could play all of those songs. now? it's doing it again. same two artists, but a couple of others thrown in too. anyone know what's causing this? had it happen to you? it better not be a sign of my ipod's early death because i will be pissed. it's not even a year old yet.

Also, my friends page seems to be updating in fits and starts. Like, I'll check for six hours, nothing updated, then BAM! everyone's entries for the last six hours will pop up. Grumble.

My iPod did the same thing a while back. Funnily enough, it happened immediately after I had charged my Ipod using another person's charger at their computer.

What you did (deleting and re-uploading) is probably fine. Since it happened to so many of my songs, I panicked and deleted my entire iTunes, reset my iPod to its factory settings, and re-uploaded all my songs. In retrospect, it was probably overkill. :)

My IPod pulled tricks like that last time I updated ITunes, 'cause then it wanted the IPod software updated, and wouldn't play certain things in my library, and then once I got the Ipod software updated it wanted to update ITunes AGAIN. Once I finished that off though, it would play everything.

exact same thing happened to my ipod - i did the 'reformat to factory settings' thing that comes with the ipod software, and that sorted it :)

I have the same ipod problem. I'm kind of glad that it's not just me. I thought I was going crazy or something. I, too, delete and re-add to fix the problem. Naughty ipods.

I;m not getting all my comments back either. It's really annoying, isn't it? Not like it's actually possible to keep track of where you posted or anything. Between that and the ultra slow load up, it's making my head spin.

I've been having the same thing happen to my ipod except it switches different songs that don't show up, every time I unplug and replug. Sometimes I get all the songs, and then it just reaches a point and a random half of my songs no longer play. It's been scaring me...
