i'm bored and actually have time on my hands at work. so i bring you...

my lj pet peeves
- people who make introductory posts in communities. nobody really cares that you just joined.

- people who say "i'm not sure if this is allowed, but..." and post whatever it is they're going to post without reading the rules to see if it is allowed.

- people who let fandom drama/crazies drive them away from their journals/communities.

- people who make dramatic flounces saying they're taking an lj(or really this applies to posting boards too) "hiatus/sabbatical/vacation/whatever".

- people who repeatedly delete and undelete their journals.


i'm sure there are more, but those are the only ones that come to me right now. i'm hearing rumblings of a VM kerfluffle, but i guess it's only at TWoP and i don't go there. it's been a while since i stretched my snarky fingers and got involved in a flame war. maybe i should go post something inflammatory at beta. like..."moo". *snerk*

This latest kerfluffle is, if I may say so, completely fucking stupid. It displays signs of all the things I hate about rabid fandoms - beyond-irrational character attachment, taking something a celebrity says in interviews as personally insulting, plaintive wails about "alienating the largest part of your fan base!", blah blah, shut the fuck up, blah.

It's really too bad TW.Net didn't flourish. We could at least have fun with the drama then. (Aye, I's got a God complex.)

BTW - Christy, thanks for the upload, but my computer is being wonky and it didn't work. I had to go hunt up a torrent. :)

Ha...great minds! -LOL- I've never understood the intro posts when they contribute nothing other than "Hey! I'm new."

Also, I posted these two a while back, but most of it still applies to all communities. Though you might get a chuckle out of some of it.

Seriously though, your pet peeves I agree with, although I will say that I have told people I'm taking LJ sabaticals, not due to fandom stuff though. Mainly I tell people so that they don't think that I'm ignoring them if I don't respond to their posts or post for a while. I also don't think that I'm being overly dramatic or flouncing when I do it.

Also the VM thing is nuts and I'm glad I'm not in the VM boards over at TWOP lately.

well, you've totally offended me with this post! NOT only will I randomly defriend you, I will post friends-locked posts afterwards, saying mean things about you, to mutual friends, of course. Then, when you leave anonymous retorts on MY LJ, I will block them and tell everyone how petty you are. I will also go to any communities we both belong to and try to turn everyone against you. YEAH!
