AI top 10 girls
Feb. 28th, 2007 07:44 pmGina singing Alone. pretty powerful and it's good, but if i didn't already love her i don't think this would bring me over to her side. :/
Alaina singing Not Ready to Make Nice. *gag* surprisingly, the song is too big for her and that is NOT a compliment from me to Natalie Maines. really though, it just wasn't good.
Lakisha singing Midnight Train to Georgia. she has such an amazing voice, but i agree with Simon. definitely not as good as last week. i'm cracking up with him giving all the ladies fashion advice tonight. "it's a dusky grey." ha!
Melinda singing My Funny Valentine. she's definitely better than the other long time back-up singer in this bunch. she has a great voice, but i don't really see myself going out and buying her cds and ultimately that's what this is about.
::interlude:: why are the judges pushing the girls to the forefront so much this year? am i alone in loving the guys more?
Antonella singing Because You Loved Me. she isn't awful like everyone is hoping, but she's definitely a weak link in this competition. her attitude leaves much to be desired. you don't stand up there and roll your eyes at the judges. listen to them and their criticism. you aren't above it all.
Jordin singing Reflection. it started out rough. a little too low for her range. the middle is okay, but she's pitchy as hell and this is boring. next. (are these judges on crack? how was this good?)
Pickler tomorrow? is Idol trying to make me stop watching? i got enough of her last year. not to mention that she's slithered her way to nashville and i have to hear about her stupid, fucking red high heels all the freakin' time. gah!!
Stephanie singing Dangerously in Love. oh joy. another one of my favorite singers tonight. freakin' Beyonce. Stephanie has a great voice, but once again i'm left feeling cold. i really don't know what it is about the girls this year. i'm just not feeling them. also, what i said about Melinda holds true for Stephanie. i don't ever see myself buying one of her cds.
Leslie singing Feeling Good(deja vu anyone?). who knew Muse would get this much AI time? i like it. very jazzy. she's a million and one times better for me this week. (it may be my affection for the song. i don't really know.)
Haley singing Queen of the Night. she looks like she's having fun and that's important. the high note run was a little rough there in the middle, but i really liked this. it's really different than everything else that's being performed tonight.
Sabrina singing He Fills Me Up. must be Whitney night. i'm repeating myself at this point, but yeah. great voice. don't see myself shelling out bucks for her music. also? can people please stop using verbrato to distract the fact that they can't hold out long notes? that is such a peeve of mine.
voting for: Gina, Lakisha, Leslie and Haley
going home prediction: i have no idea. probably Antonella after her diva act onstage.
my freaking TiFaux taped Jericho instead of FNL. i'm hoping mom and dad's taped it or i'm gonna have to resort to other methods.

Date: 2007-03-01 05:37 am (UTC)I've been a Melinda fan from the start, but this just SEALED it. That was one amazing, unbelievable performance. I would absolutely buy her stuff - I just think she has a fantastic voice and it's very original.
I totally loved Leslie's performance. Maybe because I love Nina Simone (who originally sang it). I LOVE the old jazz singers - Nina, Billie, Ella, Sarah Vaughan...
GO HOME, Antonella. JUST GO HOME.
