umm...so i just bought a new laptop. yes, i know i just bought one last year. to be fair, i just couldn't take the HP anymore. i refuse to send it back for a fifth time for something they keep claiming they've fixed. they didn't seem at all put out when i told them i wouldn't be buying another HP product and i was going to tell everyone i knew not to, as well. so screw 'em. toshiba it is!! i'm going to clear off everything from the old one and try to get someone to buy it off of me that doesn't mind screen flickering.

i got this one and i think i love it. the slick keyboard is going to take some getting used to though! i really just hope that this is a good computer to me. it's not that much to ask that i be able to see the screen, is it?

I love my Vaio but the Toshiba was my second choice. I just got such a good deal on this one.

Although it is a bit big to be really portable. Since it is a desktop replacement though, it doesn't matter.

I have heard a bunch of people bitch about Vista but I like it so far.

Good choice. We have 3 Toshiba laptops at home and they've never failed us. Well except for one with the loose hinge, but it's a 6 year old laptop and it still runs great.

Oh, god! I envy you. We have an HP and one of the hinges broke. I'm going to have to take it in and get it fixed.

When you add in the Vongo issues, we just hate this thing.

It's less than two years old and I want to get a new one. The problem is convincing Christopher that we need another one. Even though our desktop is deader than the BBS.

Shiney!! I have a Toshiba Sattelite! Yours looks newer than mine though. I've had mine for over a year now. I've only had to send it in once. The keyboard on mine is a pain in the ass sometimes, but that's probably my fault anyway. :D

Yay for a Toshiba! I got mine 3 weeks ago exactly...but had a BAD experience with it at OfficeMax. (See this LJ entry. I've filed a complaint through the better business bureau and am in the middle of communications with OfficeMax.)

i think i stopped using it when i bought my own webspace, which was a couple of years ago and now i don't use either. so if you want to trash it in a couple of days(i want to make sure i have everything i need off of there), that's cool.
