i do believe this marks the first 2008 olympics post! (shame it's not for a better reason...)

WTF?!? american girls! get your shit together or you aren't even going to make it to team competition.

Sam Peszek and Chelsie Memmel not competing sucks, but come on! you've got some of the best gymnasts in the world currently and i sure can't tell by watching you tonight.

Alicia and Bridget going way out of bounds on floor, Chelsie falling on uneven bars, Nastia not landing her dismount and ending up on her back! WTF?! get. it. together!

so far vault has been the only saving grace tonight. let's hope beam goes the same way. come on, Nastia! do your thing on beam, sweetheart.

At least you're lot made the team final - although 9th is the best that GB have ever come (and Beth Tweddle did scrape into the bars final).

I was cringing through most of the coverage I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Everyone looked so dejected.

I did like the conversation the girls had afterwards. it seemed like they knew they screwed up but were dealing with it in a really positive way. If they do follow their own words during that, they should do better later. If not, they are handing the Chinese the gold. They just seemed shaken up by that injury right before the floor routine.

I work with Romanians, one of which was a female gymnast. The state of that team is quite sad after their former domination of this sport. She's mad at them for their attitude, mad at the US girls for falling apart and mad at Bella for not being in Romania. ;)
