i'm feeling nostalgic after looking through some old entries and i decided to fire up the old computer to see what kind of files were still there. i found this and felt the need to share:

Welcome to the Beta! I'd suggest that long, rambling secret messages are not the best way to fit in around here, but i wouldn't want to damage your tender sensibilities. I'd also direct you to the links for FAQ and Community Rules at the top of the page to better help you acclimate yourself to our community, but then you might accuse me of being condescending and elitist. It's a long-standing community enforced rule to use the spoiler font for discussion of an episode for 1 full week after each new eppy airs, but when the community tries to enforce this rule we're attacked by our own. So basically you can do whatever the hell you want. Please make yourself at home here and feel free to walk all over our traditions and ways of doing things because this is all about you and making you feel comfortable. Let us know if there's anything we can change to make this board more to your liking and don't forget to tell all of your friends about this place. Again, welcome to the Beta! ©denisef
