tiggz: (taylor - the stupid hurts)
hahahaha!!!! oh you guys. i feel like i'm back in the glory days of the beta. read me. obviously the math ability runs in the family. want some history? )

and now you're up to date. i love when random strangers get in arguments and their "family" or "friends" come crawling out of the woodwork to defend them even when they have no interest whatsoever in the topic at hand. oh and invoking the constitutional right of freedom of speech is just C-L-A-S-S-I-C. welcome to the internet. have a cluestick. *snerk* oh and the timing for this is perfect what with the bronze homecoming tomorrow. now where'd i put my high horse?
tiggz: (veronica - tv gods)
since i have quite a few new people on my flist, i thought it was time to do a poll. these are the shows that i am the most involved with/am currently involved with. this isn't even a comprehensive list of what shows i'm watching this year. yes, i watch a lot of tv.

sidenote: does anyone know when Traveler is going to premiere? abc's website just says "coming soon" and tv.com says the 13 ep order has already been cut down to 8. i really hope this isn't one of those pilots that never sees the light of day because i think it could be really interesting.

[Poll #905886]
tiggz: (van den hoogen bonding)
one more post and then it's off to bed with me. i've been watching the Flanvention drama unfold from the sidelines, but i actually had an opportunity to use my whedonesque membership for the first time today.

BE should be ashamed of themselves for what they've done to their fellow fans and i hope every one one of the people whose money was stolen goes after them. con is an appropriate word for this mess in more ways than one. however, this has once again shown me how amazing fandom can be when one of their own is being kicked while they're down. not to mention how amazing the cast of Firefly is. Big Damn Heroes was never a more apt description.

apologies if there are typos. this has been typed with no contacts in my eyes.
tiggz: (logan - STFU)
KB? STFU, please! the following is a reply i just made in this post at [livejournal.com profile] veronica_mars.

i personally don't see it as duncan hate. i see it as Kristen is talking to every reporter as if she's an authority on the show when the truth is she admitted she doesn't even watch it. she only has a grasp of the scenes she films and those are so random and out of order, i'm not surprised she doesn't have a grasp on what happened in seasons one and two.

in my opinion logan is better than duncan. sure, he was an ass to her in season one after she chose her father over her friends. however, he also changed his opinion after she helped him find the truth out about his mother. then the kiss. then the private relationship. then everyone finds out and he tells his friends if they have a problem with her, they're dead to him. season two he was an ass because the girl had broken his heart. i've met plenty of guys like that.

duncan on the other hand broke up with her without telling her why. proceeded to pretend as if she didn't exist until he saw troy and logan show interest in her. he slept with her while he still believed her to be his sister and made her think she'd been raped for over a year. we won't even discuss how he let logan and everyone else treat her during that year. his specialty, after all, is standing idly by.

yeah...duncan's a stellar example of the perfect boyfriend. *dreamy sigh* </sarcasm>

i actually didn't have a problem with duncan until RT decided to retcon all the crap he did in season one and force him down our throats as v's twu wuv. i thought he had a lot of potential. they threw that away with 2x01 though.

why is this so hard to understand? seriously. fandom is fucking nuts.
tiggz: (veronica - bored now)
oh, fandom. where has the snark gone? seriously. [livejournal.com profile] vm_anonymous isn't even entertaining in a trainwreck kind of way. it's just...boring. it always devolves into slamming fanfic writers? bo-ring. i'll eat my hat if the next one of these things that crops up doesn't mention them. can we find something else to bitch about, please? at least [livejournal.com profile] vm_truthiness has been original with the things he/she/it is posting.

in unrelated news, i talked to a customer a little while ago whose name was Charles Brown. i said, "you probably hear a lot of Charlie Brown jokes, huh?" and he said he'd heard them all. heh. i was tempted to speak like one of the adults from the cartoon, but i restrained myself.
tiggz: (veronica - *fingers*)
i'm not going to mention how much i love the VM fandom because really, it goes without saying. you guys are made of so much awesome it's not even funny.

the real reason i'm posting is to give those interested the setlist from the Common Ro show on friday night. i also have a couple of goodies that i'll put at the end of the post. i've been trying to wait on the guys to upload a song from that night to their myspace account, but they're slacking. (touring is hard. yeah...whatever. *g*)

i really don't think they played all of these, but since they were all new songs, i have no idea which ones were played and which ones weren't. this album definitely sounds like it's going to be more folk-y than The Big Fear. i liked everything i heard though.

goodies are back here... )
tiggz: (veronica - start watching VM. or else..)
here's the deal, people. i've been pimping the hell out of this show for 2 years. we've just been renewed for another season. we're moving to a merged network that will hopefully be in more markets. more markets better equal better ratings. (pleasepleaseplease)

i know i've always said this is a show that must be watched from the beginning. i'm willing to acquiesce that this isn't necessarily the case. it has definitely been my experience, but i'm willing to accept that not everyone is as fanatical about television as i or my other converts are. so. with that being said, UPN will be re-airing the second season premiere at 9/8 CST tonight. if you want a brief(extremely brief) rundown of what happened in season one, check out [livejournal.com profile] cindywrites' post here.

give the show a try. it's only an hour and really, what do you have to lose? think of all the squeeing you could participate in. ;)
tiggz: (veronica's world)
i'm finally rewatching Not Pictured. i had to watch the first five episodes from this season of The Office before i could jump in.

so here goes. i'm sure most of my flist has seen the ep by now, but do not click if you haven't seen the season two finale! )

for those avoiding negative posts about the ep, this isn't one of them. i loved it. very much so.
tiggz: (kristen - LOL)
VM fandom is cracking my shit up lately. see [livejournal.com profile] sweetcynic23's post here for an example. tears. rolling. down. my face.

also? i may have a new favorite VM song. Sia - Breathe Me (the Four Tet remix). i'm not sure if i prefer this version or the original though. very good stuff. is Rob still choosing the music? if so, i kind of love him.
tiggz: (veronica - what is your problem?)
wow. did someone piss in the VM fandom's wheaties this morning? everyone's so uptight about their opinions today. say it with me, people. "everyone has a right to express their opinion whether it be negative or positive. as long as they're respectful towards others." people who aren't? mostly deserved to be ignored because, as we would say in the bronze world, they are bezoars. also known as trolls. just looking for any kind of attention they can get. there's also bandwagon jumpers who see what the consensus seems to be saying and just rolls with it.

for the record, i was "meh" on Duncan. there was a lot of potential there, but it was never tapped. that being said, i loved Donut Run. so there you go.

when did i become the mellow one?
tiggz: (bender - demented and sad but social)
i am in the pissiest mood and i DON'T KNOW WHY. other than the fact that i think i may be getting sick. joy.

people on the flist(who are in the VM fandom) are lamenting the negativity. i was oblivious to it until today when [livejournal.com profile] eirefaerie mentioned an anonymous meme. kinda shocked it hasn't perforated the [livejournal.com profile] veronica_mars comm. so anyway, i scooted on over to [livejournal.com profile] _elektra's journal to see what all the hubbub was about. i must be getting old because all of the crap that's brought up has been done to death and instead of making me angry, it made me laugh. or shake my head at how the internets turn. different fandom? same chocolate covered shit(SO to Michael Muhney! i've heard the stories. kiss your mother with that mouth?). seriously though, this little anonymous meme? people always act so surprised when anonymous memes turn so nasty. hello...it's human nature that we act like inconsiderate jackholes if we think no one knows who we are. not to mention that it's been freaking forever since we've had a new episode to discuss/drool over/bitch about. people get antsy. they lash out. here's a thought. don't want memes like that to get dirty? don't let anonymous people post. if a screename isn't anonymous enough for someone to use to post "how they really feel" then i don't have much use for them.

now i'm going to shut up because i sound like an old fandom hag.

random aside: i love this icon so much. yay bender! yay [livejournal.com profile] _jems_!
tiggz: (john - slightly insane)
either i'm out of the loop or this is one of fandom's well kept secrets. did we know Anthony Stewart Head and Alexis Denisof worked together before their Buffy days? i know i didn't, but did others? also? John Barrowman(Captain Jack, people! Captain Jack!!) was there too!! now if only there were nekkidness involved. and possibly chocolate or caramel(i'm one of those who could never choose).

the UKers always get the good stuff...
tiggz: (veronica - just smile)
today has been a pretty good day. was going to confront the brother about the invasion of privacy, but my dad did it for me. will wonders never cease? he claims he just got on here for two minutes to check his email, but if that were the case he wouldn't have needed to delete the history and cookies. whatever. if i get a virus from him going to some porn site or something, he's paying for the repairs. that's all there is to it.

moving on to the good part of today. i took my nephew to the mall to pick out his belated birthday present. he's very into the skater scene. so i took him to PacSun to pick out something. he ended up getting three skater shirts. while i got this jacket in blue(naturally). so cute, you guys. the picture doesn't do it justice. i also bought this at American Eagle. yes, that is Veronica's new messenger bag and yes i'm a big copycat. it was on sale too! only $19.99! suh-weeet!

after the mall i came home and watched Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants with my mom and sister. good movie. very sappy. i was shocked when i heard the Faders come on with No Sleep Tonight in one of the scenes. VM connections are everywhere!!

now, i have a confession. i just joined [livejournal.com profile] rack_of_lamb a few days ago after [livejournal.com profile] spectralbovine pointed me in that direction when i expressed my love of Sheriff Lamb. however, i have to say that after scrolling through the comm and reading the entries and comments i've developed quite the crush on Michael Muhney([livejournal.com profile] thewizrd). he just comes across as this amazingly humble, grateful, intelligent and thoughtful man. that's actually kind of new for me to see in fandom. i've seen writers behave that way(though obviously not the one i got so involved with), but never the actors. the actors always came across as a little standoff-ish. Michael is getting in there. he's reading fic about his character and leaving the author amazing feedback. he's posting phone posts thanking his fans for being so wonderful. he's responding to emails and random posts. he just seems...for lack of a better word, endearing. he honestly seems like someone i would be friends with, which is weird because while i enjoy what the actors bring me every week on my tv, i don't really feel like this with any of them.

so yeah. if you are a fan of Lamb and want to let MM know, join the comm. send him a personal email. don't be surprised if he replies.

i'm done being shmoopy now.

p.s. this fandom needs more Lamb and Cliff icons. stat.
tiggz: (mal - hurt you)
you know...i've had issues with the way Joss has handled things with the fans in the past, but i have to say that his treatment of the browncoats has been truly stellar. i consider myself a fan of Firefly and Serenity, but i don't so much consider myself a browncoat because i didn't get in the trenches and fight for this movie. nor do i really participate in the fandom. except for the lj community and that's just me lurkin' an' readin'. this post from him makes me proud to be a fan of his work. )

while i'm talking about fandom, i have to say. people in the [livejournal.com profile] veronica_icons comm are making me want to reach through my computer screen and shake them. READ THE FUCKING COMMUNITY RULES, ASSHOLES!!!! gah! how hard is it? really?
tiggz: (rose/doctor - no one even saw it go)
finally got around to watching my recording of Reunion. i haven't seen anyone talking about it, but i enjoyed the ep. Chyler Leigh's Carla" really reminds me of Angela from MSCL. not because the characters are the same, but they just seem to have a lot of the same mannerisms and Claire and Chyler look a lot alike. weirder still was when Tom Irwin came onscreen as her dad.

it's definitely an interesting concept and i'll continue to tune in. The OC on the other hand? still yawning. i'm beginning to think Josh Schwartz used up all of his creative talent on the first season. please don't let Rob Thomas do the same! pleasepleaseplease!!!

anyone else see the commercial for the new Cingular phone that is ITunes enabled? they're using a song from season two of VM!! No Sleep Tonight by The Faders. love that song! i want to get up and dance every time i see the commercial.

speaking of VM, has anyone seen the season one wrap-up on UPN's website? it has to be the most random bunch of clips anyone has ever put together. it doesn't come anywhere close to giving new viewers a clue about what season one is about. seriously. go watch it. the complete ineptitude astounds me.

now for the not so mindless portion of this post. today is 9/11. i think i'm pretty much on an emotional overload because the remembrance type shows that i've watched today have not made me cry. this is definitely rare for me because just hearing things i associate with that day have the potential of making me cry. i'm definitely thinking of everyone who was directly or indirectly affected on this day. especially [livejournal.com profile] ladymyst and [livejournal.com profile] foxant10. i'm a better person for having you two in my life.

not the greatest birthday to have, but i know two people celebrating today.

Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] surreality_fan and [livejournal.com profile] serasempre's daughter!!!

you know fandom has taken over your brain when you're opening mail at work and see an envelope with the initials OTP on it and immediately think:

Logan/Veronica!
John/Aeryn!
Cordy/Xander!
Jordan/Angela!
Kate/Sawyer!
Doctor/Rose!
Pacey/Joey!
Max/Liz!
Felicity/Noel!

yes. fandom does make you crazy.
